The American Medical Association (AMA), the nation’s largest professional Association of physicians, has a dynamic opportunity for the right individual. In this vital role, you will Support the AMA’s Improving Health Outcomes strategic focus areas by providing general administrative support to directors and staff for the Population Health and Physician Engagement segments of the organization.  You will also provide operational support for special projects and coordination support for meetings and other activities.  Some of the key responsibilities including working closely with Directors and other staff as assigned to prepare meeting materials, organize conference calls, make travel arrangements, liaise with AMA meeting planning, and submit reimbursement requests.    You will also assist your team with producing a variety of materials using various computer software applications, some of which are of a specialized nature, including spreadsheets, presentations, correspondence, agendas, and reports.   This role will also be responsible for file management and coordinating projects as assigned and will provide telephone support to the unit.


  • Associate’s degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least three years related work experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Demonstrated ability to independently undertake and complete complex and detailed administrative projects.
  • Excellent business writing skills and a demonstrated understanding of business methods and administrative systems including budgets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software required.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a team setting as well as independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail while working under pressure.
  • Occasional travel to off-site meetings.
